Pecos Construction performed as a turnkey concrete subcontractor for this project. The scope of work involved concrete demolition and replacement with various new concrete structures for renovation work on Building 217 and all the new concrete for the Remote Payment Center. All the work was performed on a site with extremely tight working areas and very little lay down or staging areas. The largest scope of work on the site included construction of a 17 foot tall retaining wall that was 150 feet long and 3 feet thick placed on 2 foot diameter piers 3 feet apart.
Building 217 included new parking areas on the basement and North side of the building, new sidewalks, a two story poured-in-place stairwell, a slab on grade stair on the East side, elevated stairs and entry features on the West side and a handicap access ramp on the North side. Building interior work included floor slab repairs and complete topping of some slabs on several floors. Pecos performed all the miscellaneous rub and patch work and the slab replacement concrete for new plumbing and utility systems.
The Remote Payment Center is a new, 11,000 square foot building. Pecos built the slab on grade foundation with interior exposed concrete areas in most of the building. Exterior concrete work included all parking lot paving, sidewalks, light pole bases, curb and gutter for city streets, and mow strips for the fence lines.
